Our Vietnamese cooking class began in the famous Ben Thanh Market where we shopped with Rex Hotel chefs for fresh ingredients for our meal.
We then moved to the beautiful patio of the Rex Hotel where we learned how to make spring rolls and tomato roses for our lunch.
We dampened our rice paper and then rolled it around our freshly mixed ingredients.
Then, one of the chefs demonstrated how to cut a tomato into a rose garnish.
We were each given three tomatos to practice on... Lynn's came out great... mine not so good.
We then had the spring rolls cooked in oil before moving on into the dining room to eat our products.
For the whole experience, we had the pleasure of the company of Yuki, one of the Diamond Princess' Shore Excursion officers.
His knowledge and good humor made the whole experience better.
